"Looking for Android Auto" [Resolved]

If you're seeing this message, it means you/Google recently updated the Android Auto app on your phone.  


In mid-May, Google published an update to Android Auto which included changes to the protocol for wireless handshaking, and the software on your device needs to be updated to reflect Google's change.   This update is affecting connectivity with tons of devices, not just G-Series screens.


Status: 6/12/23 - The engineers are aware of this issue and are working on a fix.  No ETA at this time.

My .02

1. Take the opportunity to use your G-Series screen as it was originally intended... as a full android device capable of running the FULL version of all apps!  You've been missing out if you only use it as a dumb Android Auto/Carplay terminal. End rant.
